Ed is a leadership and executive personal performance coach who works with clients to realise work-related goals.



What is coaching?

Coaching helps you get from where you are now to where you want to be.

In a work-related context:

  • Coaching is about supporting you to achieve positive goals. It is future-facing and all about taking action to improve your life at work.
  • While sometimes we might talk about the past to unlock the blockages that stop us from making improvements to our work lives, it is largely about thinking positively about how we are going to move forward.
  • Coaching works by me asking you structured questions that support you to think about how to take positive action in your work life. I will never give you advice or tell you what to do.
It's important to note that coaching is not mentoring or counselling!

Leadership and Executive Coaching

Great leaders and executives excel when they have a strong vision and clarity of purpose.  They also succeed when they can get the most out of those they lead and manage.  Coaching helps develop those skills not only in you but potentially in those you manage as well.

Drawing on my years as a senior leader in large organisations, I offer coaching sessions to those looking to:

  • Want to develop leadership and management skills
  • Create a vision and plan for the future
  • Have difficult conversations with colleagues

The GROW Model

Coaching works using the GROW model:

GOALS: We will set a long-term goal and then think about a ‘journey goal’ in each session.

REALITY: We will look at the reality of achieving that goal e.g. the resources, skills, opportunities (and obstacles) you have to achieve your goal.

OPTIONS: We will look at the options you have to achieve your goal.  You’ll explore what you might actually do to achieve your goal.

WILL AND WAY FORWARD: We will action plan and agree timescales for achieving goals.
